Engineered wood flooring Glasgow
So you’ve had engineered wood flooring installed in your home, what about the beading and finishing?
Or maybe you haven’t yet decided, as it can be a really daunting task. Do you go for solid wood flooring, an engineered wood floor, or perhaps a vinyl or laminate? There seem to be so many questions and hundreds of products to choose from. One of the most popular products becoming more and more current is an engineered wood floor. An engineered wood floor is fantastic because they will float on top of your existing floor. The construction is comprised of 3 layers of ply with a wood veneer finish. The composition of this board makes it extremely solid and will not contract and expand as much as a solid wood floor. You really cannot tell the difference between an engineered and solid wood as it is a real wood veneer. They can be sanded up to around 6 times which we think is a lifetime of use. Now, you have chosen your flooring may it be laminate, vinyl, solid or an engineered wood floor. The finish of the floor is very important to. We can remove your skirting and then lay the floor. The skirting can then be replaced after the job is done. This will give a nice clean finish. Alternatively, we we can use beading or scotia, which comes in the nearest possible match to your floor or white. We find that white beading is a great choice as it will blend in completely to your white skirting which seems to be the most common colour. It really depends on the condition of your skirting and the look you are aiming for. If your floor has been raised and you find that the doors will not open or close properly due to the new height, then not to worry as our fitters will literally shave the required amount of measurement from the bottom of your door which will resolve this problem. This can be done by removing the doors or there are new tools available that can shave the bottom side of the door without removing the door.
