Have you recently had oak solid wood flooring installed?
If so it’s important to make sure you look after your oak solid wood flooring properly to ensure it stays looking beautiful. If you have invested in a brand new wooden floor like oak, then to keep it at its best there are a few recommendations you should follow. First try not to over soak your wooden floor. The liquid will seep in and cause the floor to expand. Any spillages should be mopped up as quickly as possible. A light dusting or quick hoover will keep your floor in tip top shape. It’s important if you have oak solid wood flooring, to ensure that you don’t drag furniture, or wear stilettos in the house or it will mark. We also find that people with pets need to ensure their nails are cut regularly to avoid scratches, and it’s imperative you have doormats as grit can be walked into the house and damage the surface. If you take these precautions your floor won’t mark as heavily. If you are using a wood cleaner make sure you spray it onto each part and wipe away. Remember that a wood floor has a very hard surface and unlike a carpet it will not absorb the odours and dust. That is why a quick brush or hoover will keep your floor beautifully clean. It’s low maintenance, and such a healthy, organic and natural product to have in your house. We have various cleaning products so visit our showroom for more information on these. If you love carpets but love the benefits of a real wood floor then why not invest in a gorgeous rug giving you the best of both worlds? A laminated floor will also give you these great benefits, although of course it is not a natural product as such.
