Here at First Floors we have several trusted floor fitters that we have worked with for years. During that time we have built up a great working relationship, trust the quality of their work, and know that they will provide a perfect finish when fitting solid wood, engineered wood, Moduleo or Amtico flooring. There are many things to take into consideration when choosing the correct flooring for your home. Do you go for a wood, laminate or luxury vinyl? Would an engineered wood floor be more suitable for the space or should you go for a solid wood product? Whatever choice you make here at First Floors on Fenwick Road in Giffnock we will help guide you through the process, and we are sure that whatever decision you come to, your flooring will suit all your needs. Once the decision has been made then there are a few other factors to take into consideration. At First Floors we offer a full fitting service. Our fitters are renowned for their great craftsmanship and attention to detail. You can be assured you will be in safe hands. We charge £17.00 per square metre for solid woods, which if you are going to shop about, you will find to be a very competitive price. Engineered boards are £15.00 per square metre and laminates come in at £9.00 per square metre. We like to call ourselves the one stop flooring shop, where you choose your floor and we organise the rest. A typical turnover for an order is about two weeks and that includes the ordering process and appointing an installation date. We have many different customer needs, but we like to take the personal approach when dealing with clients taking in all necessities and requirements. Choosing what beading to use or scotia is another point. Beading comes in white, which is our most popular as it will blend into your existing white skirting. There is also the choice of various wood effects that will match and tone with your floor. If this is not what you want, then for an extra charge your existing skirting can be removed and once the floor has been laid then is put back on. This will give a lovely finish, but the beading will do this as well. If your doors need to be trimmed then this can orgainised as well. Underlay is required with most engineered boards, laminates and vinyls, but not for solid wood as they tend to be nailed directly to your existing T and G floor. Another point to take into consideration is that a solid, engineered, laminate will usually criscross your existing T and G floor which in turn adds extra strength.
