Giffnock is the second town centre in East Renfrewshire to become a BID with East Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce, taking the lead in this new strategy for Giffnock. A Business Improvement District (BID) is a business-led initiative where businesses work together and invest collectively in local improvements to their business environment. We are already seeing an improvement in Giffnock in the way that businesses communicate and the way in which business market the town of Giffnock. By giving local businesses a unified voice, a BID can provide an arena for businesses and local authorities to increase their understanding of each other’s priorities. Giffnock, on the south side of the city, currently offers a varied and diverse range of retail outlets, bars and eateries.
