At First Floors on Fenwick Road in Giffnock, we come across many questions from our customers.
What kind of wood flooring should they choose? Should they go for a solid wood floor or an engineered wood floor? What is the difference between solid wood and engineered wood? Would a vinyl be more suitable for a kitchen or bathroom? Will a laminate last? When it comes to choosing wood flooring, here at First Floors we will endeavour to answer your questions. When choosing wood flooring, one major concern seems to be what colour or shade should they choose. In our showroom we have a fantastic range of wood species in various finishes and colours. Oak in its natural state will go with most colours and decors, this is why it’s our most popular product. Colour choosing and finish can be really hard sometimes for customers and we can appreciate this as this decision is very important. We will help guide you through all flooring possibilities. We have some beautiful warm shades of oak, such as wheat and butterscotch. These colours will add a real warmth to your home and are really quite subtle. There is a gorgeous chocolate oak which is beautiful. This gives a real contemporary look and adds real depth. There are also various finishes to choose from. Brushed and oiled is very popular and the surface of the wood has been brushed bringing out the natural beauty of the grain and it is also given around 7 coats of oil (uv treated) which in turn will stop your floor from fading in the sun. We also offer the lacquered look. This is where the surface of the board is completely smooth and the matt lacquer gives a flawless look (it is given 7 coats of matt lacquer and is uv treated). We also have a fabulous hand-scraped effect which will give your floor an amazing distressed look which is really popular at the moment as well. There is so much to choose from when it comes down to flooring so we welcome you to pop into our showroom where we will be delighted to show you around our well selected range of flooring options. We will even make you a cup of coffee. First Floors, 176 Fenwick Road, Giffnock G46. Call 0141 638 0968
