Due to tougher economic times, rising shipping costs and rising fuel costs, solid hardwood flooring prices have gone up considerably. However, UK customers are still paying a similar price per square meter for solid wood floors, there is just less profit for retailers who fortunately aren’t passing these rising costs on as it’s a competitive market. Good news for customers! Talking of solid hardwood prices, we recently installed a rustic oak long board 1860mm long, and this has been reduced from £59.99 to £29.99 per square meter which is a fantastic saving for our customers, for a beautiful fitted solid oak floor. This special offer is available until the end of October so don’t miss out! Remember, we also provide a supply only service, but this price is only available if you take advantage of our professional and low cost fitting service in conjunction with this offer. Solid wood flooring is warm, attractive and durable and will last for generations. Solid wood floors will add value and character to any home and although man made alternatives such as wood effect laminate and vinyl are incredibly realistic you still won’t get the full variety and colour of real wood. It can be sanded and refinished if it looks worn, so it offers great value for money in the long run. We have found that the most popular species is oak, but customers are increasingly choosing walnut, cherry, beech and maple to name a few.
