Hardwood Flooring Glasgow interiors advice

When you are looking for hardwood floors Glasgow, the tendency is for our customers to lean towards dark wood floors as it is very much on trend at the moment.

All dark hardwood floors species are really fashionable at the moment, but just to throw a spanner in the works, so are lighter boards as well! So how do you make the decision between the lighter look or the darker hardwood?

With a darker hardwood floors your rooms can sometimes look a bit smaller. This is an important factor to take into consideration when choosing your floor. If you have a large room, then you have space and light to play with.

Dark hardwood floors with the chocolate stained Oak or Walnut will add real warmth and depth to your room and with the correct lighting, they can create a beautiful ambience in any home. Beautiful cream walls or white to match will be gorgeous. If your room is on the small size then maybe a lighter colour would be a better choice. Lighter floors will make your room look bigger.

Whitewashed is very cool at the moment and as well as solid wood floors, there is a huge selection of laminates that come in all sorts of trendy finishes, from black to bright white. Really if you have been scouring through all the design magazines and found something that inspires you, you can guarantee that with doing your homework, you will find the finish that you are looking for.

Grey is another colour that has been a hit for quite a while now. At First First Floors we have some fabby laminates in funky finishes and colours for you to choose from. Please bring in any samples of paint or wallpaper etc, and you can spend as much time as you like matching shades and delving through all the great flooring products that we have on show. One thing to be said about a darker wood floor is that sometimes it is not as forgiving as a lighter colour when it comes to cleaning. Darker wood tends to show up dust and footprints a bit more so this is another detail to take into consideration. It is important because if you are the one who has to clean all the time then a colour that is user friendly and that does not drive you NUTS trying to keep pristine clean all the time is massively important. Ultimately, the choice is yours and we all have are own ideas of how we would like our home to look.

Fantastic service. David gave me great advice on which flooring would be most suitable for my business premises. Within the week Steven came to fit the flooring and, as promised, was in and out in a day. Can’t recommend this local Company enough. Anna Smylie ZuZu Giffnock.

We recently purchased engineered oak flooring and carpets from First Floors. The customer service from David and team was exceptional. We had just moved home from overseas and bought a house with no floors so we did not have access to allow First Floors to measure. Theye allowed us to use our own measurements as we wanted the floors laid ASAP once we had the keys. The floor is beautiful and laid very professionally (thanks Steven). The carpets are also lovely and exactly what I wanted. The only thing I would change about the experience would be to have First Floors assess the house in advance. We have fire doors which were a problem the day the carpets were laid. This was not the issue of First Floors and it was resolved quickly. Thanks again David, we would highly recommend First Floors to anyone.

Another Great Job Done!!
Just had our third floor project in seven years completed by First Floors once again.
Great service from David and his showroom team from assisting in the selection of materials through to arranging the installation. Chris and his team worked tidily and efficiently on the hardwood flooring with great attention to detail. Gordon who fitted the stair carpet was very professional in his work and was able to resolve some problematic details to our entire satisfaction.
Would definitely recommend First Floors.
