Here at First Floors on fenwick Road in Giffnock, we have a fabulous range of floors for you to choose from including engineered parquet flooring and laminate parquet flooring.
If you are looking for something that little bit different, we have many options for you to explore. Recently we have added to our range an engineered parquet floor – in fact we also offer a laminate parquet floor if budget and footfall is an issue. Our fitters are skilled in fitting engineered parquet flooring and it will make your home look elegant and unique. The beauty of real wood opposed to laminate is that it has its own individual characteristics. Wood will also change over the course of its life. Darker woods tend get a richness of colour and others may lighten. We realise here at First Floors that woods will vary in different environments, so we are more than willing to visit your home with the samples that you have chosen. This means you can get a much better idea how the colours and finishes will look in your home. It certainly will give you the peace of mind that the floor you are choosing is the best one for you. A real wood floor can be maintained and kept in great condition by a simple cleaning routine. A quick dry mopping will do the trick. Also a hoover with the soft attachment. Never over soak a wooden floor as this can be quite damaging. It really is not a good idea to lay a wooden floor in wet areas like bathrooms as this could also be very damaging to your floor. Remember wood is a natural product so high heels and pet claws will mark your floor! If the surface appears dull and takes on a greying appearance then some some of seal should be applied to maintain your floor. Lastly we would like to give a list woods starting with the hardest. Lapacho, Jatobo, Hickory, Kempas, Wenge, Hard Maple, Whit Oak, Beech, Birch, Iroko, Larch, Walnut, Cherry. If you would more details, please visit our showroom on Fenwick Road in Giffnock.
