If you have had your beautiful hardwood flooring installed by First Floors you can relax and enjoy its pure natural charm and elegance.
Many of our customers main concerns about purchasing hardwood flooring is how easy are they to maintain? Well, we totally understand that this question is very important. But not to worry!
As with everything, technology has advanced in so many fields including the process involved in staining and sealing hardwood flooring products. This a great thing as we really don’t want to be stressing about keeping our floor in tip top shape, especially if you run a busy house-hold. Really, everyday light cleaning with a nylon broom, mop or soft bristle attachment of your hoover will do the trick. Regular cleaning with a specially designed hardwood flooring cleaner will stop the build up of dirt and if you can follow this simple routine, then your floor will love you back!
Carpets tend to absorb odours and hold the dust, but due to the natural properties of wood, this will not be the case making hardwood a perfect and hygienic product for your home. Laminate is also a great product to clean and maintain.
At First Floors we have a specially designed mop and spray called Bona. There is a specially designed cleaner included and literally all you need to do is spray and clean. It has a microfiber removable pad. It is is as easy as that. Please pop in and we will demonstrate how effective this mop can be.
Moving furniture can scrape your hardwood flooring and we also supply felt pads in various sizes, which all you do is stick to the bottom of your furniture to help prevent scrapes and scratches. Dents and various marks will happen, but as wood is a natural product, it will all add to the character of your floor.
If you have pets then keeping their nails regularly clipped will help with scratches etc. High heel will produce a lot of pressure and will dent your hardwood flooring. If there any spillages then just make sure that you clean it up as soon as possible. Wiping your shoes on a mat before coming into the house is a good idea as well and is probably a habit we all try to maintain anyway.
As you can see it is quite a simple process to keep your hardwood floor in the best shape. By following these top tips, your floor will remain in years to come, as beautiful as the day it was installed.
