About solid and engineered wood flooring
If you really want that natural warmth and ambience in your home, then there is nothing quite as fabulous as a real wood floor.
The thing with a real wood floor as that you will never get bored or tired of it’s beautiful grains and textures and it will last for generations to come. A wooden floor is a blank canvas for any style of interior and will really add the wow factor to any home. Here at First Floors on Fenwick Road in Giffnock, we have a fine selection of solid wood and engineered boards for you to choose from. At the moment there is a real trend for either very light or very dark wood floors. If you are thinking of the dark option then why not go for a beautiful walnut. It is quite dark, but there is such richness of colours and textures which run through this species of wood, which will add real elegance and a sumptuous feel to your home. There is also the black nut which is another stunning board, which has similar colourings to the walnut, but has white tones and streaks to it.This a cracking flooring option and is extremely hard-wearing. Keeping on the darker side of things, there is a magic Chocolate stained oak which will give your home that real contemporary look. We have a lovely sample here in the showroom which looks amazing. A general rule of thumb with floor colourings is that if you have a small room then a lighter floor will give a feeling of space, whereas a darker floor will close the space in. If you have a large area then a darker flooring option will not really effect. If your room is on the small side, but you have set your heart on a darker floor, then experiment with lighter furnishings and natural linens and fabrics. Wood just goes so well with natural materials like leather and linens etc. On the lighter side there are the light greys and white colours. Yet again these tones will give your home the contemporary feel and a more distressed lighter board can give the Shabby Chic look which has been about for a very long time now. We could talk all day about the fabulous benefits of a real wood floor, but the best way is to see them for real. Come in and have a good look at our beautiful range of solid wood floors and Engineered boards. Give us a call on 0141 638 0968 for more info on this offer
